Gravid Argus update/questions

hbailey Dec 11, 2004 07:58 PM

She ate 1 mouse today, but still has not laid eggs. Is this normal for them to eat prior to laying?

How long before I should start to worry about egg binding?

I've noticed some distention of her cloaca. Another thing I've observed is her trying to find a way out of the enclosure. If I'm right this is a sign that something is missing in her enviroment. I'm going to try changing a few things around with the nestbox, as I believe that's the problem. I'm going to check humidity (too high I think) and add more depth. My real concern is with egg binding.

Any advice would be appreciated

No, I was waiting to determine the gender of this one before buying a mate.

I've been known to be wrong before, so take a look for yourself and tell me what you think. These were taken about 6 days ago

Ate one small mouse in 8 dys and not a drastic change in appearence. I've changed nothing in the enviroment, except add a nest box.
