FOUND ARGUS MONITOR!!!

landgator Jan 11, 2005 08:08 AM

My pure Argus from Goanna Ranch came up missing about two months ago without a trace. At night sometimes we would hear noises, but never a glimpse of the missing Argus. One day I had one of my male dogs in the house, "Tubby", an American Pit Bull Terrier and I heard him growling in the hallway. I went to see what all of ther fuss is about, and there is the Argus puffed up with the tail curled and ready to whip. I immediately put the dog back outside, and came back to rescue the monitor. The monitor never ran although he had plenty of opportunity when I went outside. Maby he was tired of being on the run and wanted to return to the comfort of his spacious enclosure and nice live prey. The monitor seems to be doing well, and is eating like a monster!!!

Sorry so long
Thanks for reading.

I am happy that you found him. It is wild that he was living in the house and you never saw him.

There are chameleons, pythons, and monitors in my jungle room.

Do you have any insect poison around your house? If you do, you better get him to a vet, quick. I had a ridge tail monitor that disappered for about a month, and I later found him. However, after the second day, he died! It was probably because of the bugs he was eating, and there is some insect poison in my house (nowhere near my other monitors, of course).

Anyways, glad to hear you got him back and hope he lives for over 10 years!
