ARGUS X FLAVIRUFUS CROSS BREEDING

drzrider Jan 25, 2005 10:25 PM

Does anyone know of anyone that has ever bred two ARGUS X FLAVIRUFUS MONITORS together? I imagine they have, but I have never knowingly seen them. I would not think that cross breeding them would make sterol young ones.

There are chameleons, pythons, and monitors in my jungle room.

Most of the ones out there are at least F-3 to F-10. Thats why there are all those great colors.

The last time I bred a pure flavi to a pure argus was about 10 years ago. All of ours are indeed products of multi generations, so yes, they are indeed fertile.

On a side note, one of our original female Argus/sand crosses is now gravid with her 52nd clutch, man that is kickin it. The Male is the product of one of her offspring, bred to a goulds(=threeway), then bred back to a Argus/flavi(twoway). So their babies will be 5ways(addition) or 6ways(multiply), ok, they will still be three ways, argus/flavi/gouldi. Thanks FR

Was just curious, out of all the babies u have had through the years what percentage do u think u have kept...and I am assuming the others u sell or trade.

You would have to set a time that means kept. Some get excessed at one month, others after a year, others 4 years, others many years. There is no set time to keep or sell them. Also, some of the ones we "keep" we intented to sell, then grew attached. Then we have sold ones we intended to keep.

So, there is no percentage. They either go out in a cardboard box or a pine box, hahahahahahaha, sorry bad joke. FR
