I have only worked with two flavis, but both are absolutely wonderful animals. I don't know if "tame" would describe them, but they are interactive to the point of friendliness and the male does not mind being handled. They lack the high strung, jumpy attitude of the argus, and although they have a strong feeding response they do not go into a shark-like feeding frenzy when they know food is around. They have such sweet dispositions that they are by far my favorite monitors. (I still like arguses, but the flavies really caught my heart).
