Feeding Schedule for Argus Baby to Adult

Rottenweiler9 Jun 04, 2007 09:45 AM

I am trying to get a grasp on how often you have to feed when it is a baby and how often to feed as an adult. I am looking at a female. I can not find anything out there on this, except one thing that says feed it 6 days a week until 24 inches then 4 days a week until 28 inches and then once or twice a week. That seems off to me. I assume as babies they eat crickets and then move up to mice, so how many mice per feeding, if you can let me know in your experince.

Thank you

An argus, if set up correctly, will eat everyday and alot.
These are amazing animals with an unending appetite.
There is no set feeding schedule.
I fed mine everyday, (twice a day for baby and juvies) whether ir was a few dozen crickets, some large roaches, 2 to 4 mice, a couple of quail or chicken peeps.
Use your own judgement and a good hot basking spot and have fun.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I would have to agree, these guys can eat and will eat whenever you feed them and almost whatever you feed them and they are aggresive feeders.I feed my pair any appropriate size rodents I have on hand be it mice, hamsters, gerbils, rats. They also enjoy quails, chicks, fish, chicken hearts and gizzards but not to crazy about roaches .I feed every other day or so normally. My female has layed recently and is a little thin so she is being fed daily to get her weight back up .
