Are my eggs dying!?!

cito Sep 05, 2003 02:21 PM

I have only had my eastern milk eggs for about 1 and 1/2 months and the two remaining good eggs are starting to shrivle up and collapse, they still look alive but they're shriveling and the shells have become very soft, i know this is normal for when they are about to hatch, but it usually takes them longer then a month and a half to hatch right? Or is there a chance that they could be hatching within the next week?

Snakes eggs require some humidity to keep from drying up. What is your setup like?

Also, I can't speak for Eastern milks because I've never had them, but the eggs of all the kings and milks I ever worked with took about 65-70 days to hatch or so at 78-80 degrees. The first clutch I ever incubated I kept on the drier side. The eggs shriveled alot but all hatched fine.

I've got them in a metal bread baking pan with moss and the temperature is kept at about 84 degrees and i know they arent shriveling up from humidity becuase the same amount has always been there and they werent shrivled like they are now two days ago. There is plent of water i even had one burst from two much water about a week ago.
