For more than a month, I have often found Bud chilling out on the floor of his cage in the morning and evening, not on his perch. (This started before I found Fulton, I haven't really thought about it till now...). He's not acting weird in other ways, he's eating great, pooping great, just not basking as much. I thought it might be to hot up there, so I changed his light from a 150 to a 75 watt, and made his perch slightly higher to maintain the right (although not as hot as before) temps. Then I thought maybe he didn't have enough energy because his UV bulb was getting old, so I replaced it. He still does it!
I just don't get it. I am going to ask my vet about it when he gets back on Monday, and I've been looking for something in the Hatfield book and Melissa's book (finally bought it this week!) So far, no luck. Sometimes he's warm to the touch, sometimes neutral, sometimes COLD! Why is he doing this? Anybody else's ig do this? It's kind of funny- he just looks so tuckered out when he does it- his arms and legs are all splayed out, but he's not having any problems with them. When I go to pick him up he's just like, "Oh, hey, just hanging out here on the floor." It's not like he gets upset at being moved.
Anyway, any suggestions?
