The other day I was at my local reptile shop picking up some rats and I noticed what I thought was a blackthroat ,I even saw the black color on the throat,but it was labeled a white throat.
I don't know what to think.

you will or may see them named many things. As the names change from time to time. If your looking for one or the other just learn the differences and you'll then know what your looking at no matter what the label says.
