Hey everyone,
I read in a post awhile back about saying bts will grow if they have the right husbantry. Can you just house a baby bt in a cage for a adult? Or what's a decent sized cage for a baby?
Thank you,
Rob

Well you could house a baby in an adults cage, but it's going to be harder to give it the right requirements. Since it's so little, you'll have to raise the basking spot up pretty high to get it the right temps and the huge space might take alittle longer to get used to.
As to the right size for a baby, it really all barrels down to the keeper and what they can provide, but the norms of what MUST be in the enclosure are all agreed upon like the temp ranges, substrate, etc.

Well, I'm definetely no expert... but I should have my new Ionides coming Wednesday morning, and Robyn at ProExotics recommended that I start it out in a ~20 gallon enclosure until he gets acclimated. He said even a 50 gallon would be quite large for the little guy right off the bat, and could cause them to remain nervous/skittish for a much longer period of time (which of course could lead to alot of other problems).
As Tann also mentioned, it's be a lot harder to provide all the correct parameters for such a small monitor in such a large enclosure.
Hopefully you're lucky enough to have random sizes of enclosures just lying around like I am
