Interesting behavior...

eradi Jun 12, 2006 09:40 AM

While my 26" BT was roaming around the living room it came across one of the cats toys which is almost like a feather duster. It is a clump of feathers on the end of a plastic rod
to tease/play with the cat. As my BT approached it he became very cautious of it, puffed up and stopped an 1" away from it. Then he walked on top of it and layed down and rubbed and wiggled on it. It reminded me of a dog outside rolling in something that stinks like a dead fish or something.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
What was he doing?

Thanks, E

Now his territory, no longer the cats. Im sure the cat will do the same in return.
They act nervous when they smell the cat for the simple reason that the cat is a very effective predator, at 26 inches long your monitor would be a small meal in a hurry. I have 4-6ft plus monitors that still are nervous of my cat.

Interesting!
I have never seen this from my Sav or Tegu.
Do both male & female monitors do this or is is strictly a male
behavior?
The cat is very leary of him and keeps his distance. They
are never unsupervised.
Thanks again!
