good news and ?s

well, my bt finally took frozen ,but i was being
careless, without gloves and he decided to take my hand first(yes i do use tongs,but....), do any of you gus know how to make them let go, at 2 1/2' it didnt do much skin tearing but felt like a twisting vice grip for 3 minutes, i think they call ita death roll? another thing, over the past month or so, his behaviour and appearance have changed, he is out more often, growing more relaxed towards me, taking frozen mice and he is starting to look more like an adult than a baby, also his cage is wood and under a part shade window and before, he would escape and cram ito a hiding spot and look out the window, before, if i
didnt put him back in his cage for his afternoon feeding , i would find him under a table in the morning, now he heads back int his cage to sleep(his lights are on 24/7, but there are some nice dark hiding spots and he has made himself a cozy little burrow) my
question, is there like a monitor maturing stage at 2.5'?

thanx,
mike

They mature as they grow.
But its not an adult.
An adult BT averages from 5-7ft long, when kept properly. Its got a long way to go, 2.5 ft for a young growing BT in captivity should be about a few months old (CBB examples), WC you never know how old they are.
Just means so far its losing its fear of you. Oh, by the way, a 2ft BT can do alot of damage "bulldogging" you as you got a taste of, they have poerful jaws, now multiply that as they grow bigger, lol.

i know they get bigger, he is wc from proexotics, ive seen the snails they eat in the wild and was afraid of what a 6' monitor could do to your hand if he got hold of it and didnt let go for 10 minutes, ouchs...sounds like a cast and some stitches, alot of stitches!

Proexotics sold a few groups of captive bred and born albigs years back, some Faust crosses, and their own CBB blackthroats, this was in 2002 or 2003 though, the Faust crosses were from 2001. So Im sure they have been selling WC since, only.
