Big mistake.

I've wanted a blackthroat for years, and finally comitted. It's only five inches SVL. It eats crickets by the dozen and to my relief knows how to drink from a bowl. As a temporary setup, I put it in with my adult Jewelled Lacertas who have a very large tank. Well I guess I didn't replenish the crickets soon enough. I came to the tank and found a broken green tail, but no female LC to be seen. Blackthroats can eat a thing 1/3 their size! I was really bummed, but (s)he was fat and relaxed. (S)he already needs fuzzies, maybe hoppers. Amazing.

Has anyone had their ionides eat warmed-over pre-killed rodents?

Roger

All I feed is pre-killed rodents and chicks. Make sure they are thawed good and room temperature, then feed with long tongs. Give a jiggle and that usually entices the feed. Eventually you should be able to leave them in a bowl.

Just curious, what is your setup like, as in all the specs?
