i just got a wonderful 7" baby black throat and it looks good all toes very pretty oranges and yellow colors. he eats crickets very well and is very active stays in the hot spot quite a bit but roams the cage, and sometimes goes for shade. the thing that im curious about is he wont eat any sort of worm(superworms, mealworms). so i dont know if this is a bad sign or not. i went to give him a fuzzy mouse and he wouldnt take it so i put him in the cage with some crickets and the mouse and he eyeballed a cricket and went for it but then bit the mouse and decided to eat it instead. is this a bad sign or could it be just because hes never ate any of these things before and doesnt recognize them as food?

At that young of an age I believe movement is the key, and the livelier the more attractive. I'd leave the worms in a bowl in the cage throughout the day and sooner or later it's curiosity should get the better of it and it should eat some.

Have a good one!
