Is this substrate ok for monitor?!?

I just recently bought some soil from lowes for i think 5.77 a bag. Its just about the only one I could find that didnt seem harmful. But I have to make sure. The name of the soil is called Growth cycle potting mix. Its says on front remium compost mixture :excellent for both indoor and outdoor containers erfect consistency for enhanced root growth. And the bag nowhere says anything about fertilizers or extra growth chemicals. But on the back it says 100% ORGANIC COMPOST DERIVED FROM YARD DEBRIS RECYCLING. Is their anything that could be harmful in a compost mixture? The last sentance says that this ready to use medium weight mix is especially formulated for both indoor and outdoor pots, hanging baskets, and container growing. I have a new juv. sumatran water monitor coming and I need to make sure that it isnt harmful. Can the smallest bit of fertilizers or chemicals in soil kill or harm a reptile? thanks!
