Anyone know what a jampea water monitor looks like or any info on thespecies
pet traders call them orange spot water monitors. they have an orange tinge to their colored scales, but overall they appear normal to me, maybe a bit darker. top of their heads has a pattern similar to sulawesi speckled waters. i saw a few in person, mostly 4 foot adults. the latin is varanus salvator salvator, it falls well within the nominate species in terms of pattern, proportions, etc.

Come on John how dare you leave me here to answer everything. That new wife already tighten the chain? haha just messing with you
No pictures to post of orange spots? Don't you have any pictures on your site of them? If not I can send you some.
BTW got your message about the leaves. I'll let you know when they arrive.
Thanks again from me and my monitors
hi jody,
ive been on business trips and stuff. ive taken new pics of my sulfurs, but not sure when ill show them. when i was packing up your leaves, i found a baby brown dekays snake wander out of the bag. so you may have unexpected guests! i set that one free. i usually find them under debris, this guy may have gotten scooped up at ground level in a pile of damp leaf cover. i dont have any pics of orange spots, can you post yours here? they resemble an ocellated sulawesi type, i guess they are closely related, tana jampea is just south of sulawesi. will be in touch via email, i have to send your tracking #. btw, i am in love with those marm crosses you have. any breedings between them? speak to you soon, -john
Freebies along with my leaves haha
If I get these marm crosses to breed I will let you know first. The female just cycled and the male must of missed his cue. She was full of infertiles and ready to nest before he decided anything. By then she wanted none of him and bit him a good one for his efforts.
I looked through my online photo album and I removed the picture of the jampea I had. I will have to look at my cd's now. Man I should really label my cds dang it.
I did find this picture online looks like one to me even though it was labeled as a common.
