They do many things in the wild some that we use others we do not because it is not sensable to do so. As for food items they eat many many things. I use what works rather then fumbling around using whatever they will eat. After all they would eat darn near anything.
Now onto the eggs. I am sure feeding eggs has been mentioned before, it is just not a good staple diet more like a treat. I have a cockatoo when she lays her eggs I feed them off to my monitors. When I feed store bought eggs I hardboil them first and then crush them up shell and all. But again this is a treat not to be fed as the main diet. Stick with whole food items for the main course.
