nile tank ideas

murinus1970 Aug 29, 2006 09:00 AM

hi all, just thought i would ask for some input from you guys, as i am about to start building my nile a new enclosure. i know roughly what i will be doing but thought you guys might have some ideas for me ? the tank will be roughly 7ft wide by 6ft tall and 4ft deep. it will have a shelf on one side with a large water tub, and probably 2 shelfs at different heights on the other side. the bottom will have a substate depth of around 6" for him to have a dig. heating will be by two tube heaters (for background heat) and two spot bulbs for basking on the shelfs. the thing i cant decide on is the way in which he will access the platforms be it logs or boards with maybe plastic mesh or bark for grip ? pics of anybody else's largish vivs welcome

I would get boards (for stability) and cover them in cork bark to give it a nice natural look.
