Water Monitor

blueloon Oct 28, 2006 09:50 PM

I had my mind set on getting a water monitor. As I was calling some shops getting caging info my hopes were diminished.Right now I rent a basement apartment in a private house. My plan was to get a baby water monitor. The person I spoke with on the phone said that it would out grow a conventional sized cage in a few years.I raised one on my own and after a few years I don't remember it as being more than a few feet. Now I am leaning more towards a small python.

It seems you recieved very good advice. A water monitor should grow to over three feet in one year, and can grow another three feet the second year. /-

Of course you could dwarf one and not allow it to grow, but that is cruel and abusive.

A snake(small python species, childrens etc) do not require the space of a varanid. A very good choice. Cheers
