Tank size for baby Nile

wlin1 Feb 09, 2007 03:49 PM

I have a 75 gallon tank (48in x 18in x 20in) to temporarily house my baby nile. I am planning on building a much bigger cage when it gets bigger. How long will the nile be able to stay in the 75 gallon tank before it outgrows it? Thanks.

If it's healhy and your husbandry is on I would think it would
outgrow that tank in 2 to 3 months. My baby grew from 17" to 21"
in a month!

How about some pix!

So is it safe to say that there's no way that my baby nile can be housed in the 75 gallon for about 6 months? Thanks.

Absolutely safe to say. Do yourself (your monitor) a favor and build a BIG CAGE. My niles grew from 10-12" to 3&1/2 and nearly 4' in 10 months and most of that time My husbandry was lacking.
