sick Nile monitor

I have a year old ornate nile monitor that has become very listless which is very unusual for him. He is now refusing food and appears dehydrated. He becomes aggressive and bites when approached which is normal but he is out in the open when he usually hides. He usually suns himself during the day but again just lies in the corner of cage. Any advice?
