My mother in law has a 4 foot savannah. She has had him about 2 years now, he was a rescue... so we have no idea on age. He has GROWN alot since he has been with her so I don't imagine him being that old. His enclosure is wonderful, custom built and it runs the entire length of a room. He has plenty of room. She is pretty knowledgable about them, and I have checked. She has everything right. Temps ... humidity... full spectrum. He came to her a little dehydrated and skinny. He grew into a strapping monitor with a great appetite. He eats a wide variety of pre killed prey food. He will even eat the raw food she prepares for her cats and dogs. All was well until about 6 months ago. He started loosing weight and his appetite and feeding habbits changed. He will eat great maybe one day out of the week. Then just goes to his hide. She has dewormed him twice in this period with panacur, following that up with a probiotic. Yet he is still acting like this. She has had a fecal ran, and they saw nothing irregular. I just wondered if any of you monitor gurus have any experience with something like this.... thanks a bunch!!
