Can someone recommend a good book about savanna monitors? There are a lot and my store told me that there is a new one out. What is it like and which is the best/

I have not yet read the new book out (takes a while for mail to get to me): Savannah Monitors: A Complete Guide to Varanus exanthematicus. It is supposed to cover species that were once V. exanthematicus (V. exanthematicus, V. albigularis and V. ocellatus). The author probably has more information on this species than anyone, so it should be pretty good.

The authors name is Mark Bayless and he is very knowledgable on those species named above. I ordered the book from Amazon dot com yesterday for $9.95. I'm sure it will be very good.

The best book on the subject of Savannah Monitors is The Savannah Monitor Lizard: The Truth About Varanus Exanthematicus by Daniel Bennett and Ravi Thakoordyal. Ravi has been breeding them in captivity for a long time and Daniel has studied them extensively in the wild. This book is widely being considered THE book to have when it comes to updated information on the captive care of the Savannah Monitor. Some books that are currently in print simply have flat out, incorrect information in them. You can't go wrong with this book. Here is a link to it at Amazon.com...
