To those of you who are familiar with my savannahs Loki and Tikka know that I have had them together for almost a year now with no problems. Well about a month ago while moving into our new house my female laid eggs, our male ate all of them but one. Total she had about 15. To make a long story short, we had them staying away from us while we were doing the move and getting the room set up for their cage, and we did not get to the eggs first. Since this happened the female has been showing very aggressive and I would say dominate behavior toward the male who is at least 4 times bigger than her but a push over.

She shows no signs of aggression when he is laying with her basking or sleeping but as soon as he tries to leave she bites onto his legs or mounts his back, holds on while he tries to walk away and continues to bite at his back, and legs.

She is not latching on and shaking, or to me trying to hurt him she is just nipping at him. Well I have had to separate them in fear that he will get fed up with these actions and hurt her. If anyone has experienced this behavior before or has any words of advice I would love to hear them, as long as it is positive feedback. I am going to post this in both forums so sorry in advance to those who read it twice.

Thank you,
Christina
