Sick savannah, urgent!

Paul_EMT Dec 19, 2006 07:54 PM

I have a 4 year old savannah and he has looked a little out of it for the last couple of days. He is shedding so I thought that had something to do with it. I thought he may be a little dehydrated because it has been a little while since i soaked him. I went to put him in the tub and he freaked out. His back arched and his tongue flew out and he started shaking. He flipped on his back. I have since soaked him for a couple of hours and gave him some gatorade fed carefully thru a syringe. 1/2 of his manhood came out and won't go back in. I had to step out for a few minutes and did not want to leave him unattended so I put him back in his cage. I came back and he had flipped himself over. Any ideas? I thought he might be blocked up, but his belly is soft. His color is perfect. Eyes don't look bad. My vet will not be in til tomorrow and I don't know what else to do.

Well unfortunately, my monitor died last nite. I found an emergency vet that dealt with exotics, but he died on the way, he was having seizures, but up until last nite, no sign of illness.

I'm sorry for your situation. I posted about my Sav a few weeks ago and still have no response. He's doesn't want to eat anymore and doesn't move except to get warmer or cooler under his light. I can't imagine losing mine. The is a video of him in his more spritely days.
