feeding scorpions?

kuma Jan 28, 2007 05:16 PM

hi
my sav is a year old and is 30". I raised it on pinkies-mice, crickets, hissing roaches, and rats. I wanted to feed it the ocassional emperor scorpion as well. I wanted to get my sav a scorpion as a birthday treat. is this ok to do if he hasn't grown up dealing with scorpions? or should i not have to worry, and he should be fine? thank you so much for any advice.

I think it's a bad idea. I'd go with other food sources: eggs, baloney, ground turkey, earthworms from Walmart, etc.

Remember, whole food prey are the best thing to feed monitors. If you want to spend the money for a birthday treat, go to the pet shop and get a garter snake. Would be fun for your monitor and probobly couldn't hurt it.
