Hey, i just got a baby savannah monitor. he is about three or four inches. Im feeding him half grown crickets every day, and and newborn pinky once a week. i have the cage substrate as sand right now, i was wondering if there was something else i should use. also is what im feeding him right?? and what temps should i have?? its around 100 on one end, and goes down to 85 on the other. thanks.

Lose the sand, give it atleast 10 inches of diggable dirt at that size.

Get him off the sand it is hideous and give him dirt. Savannah is grassland, not desert. You don't want the temp at the whole end to be 100 but you want a basking spot to be about 110-130. The cool end can go down to mid 70s. Food sounds fine, is he getting all he wants?
