Savannah monitor diet

brte Sep 20, 2007 06:54 PM

i have a 1 yr and 4 month old savannah monitor and was wondering what is a good staple diet for him. ever since i got him i have fed him groung turkey with the right amount of calcium and vitamin supplements. he used to eat three times a week when young but when was getting fat i cut back to two days week and is maintaining a good girth size and weight. he eats very well.he is very active and gets plenty of exercise by climing up and down the cage. i have not seen any problems or comlications with him at all. he basks reguarly and soaks in his water tub.

mice, or appropriate sized frozen rodents are working great for my boy. I occasionally supplement with turkey, etc. but rodents seem to be just fine so far, in my experience anyways. I am not doing anything revoloutionary here, and he is one of the healthiest, seemingly content savs I've ever had, good luck!
