rescued sav. diet... suggestions please!

Hi
I juat rescued a savannah monitor. He has got to be at least 2 yrs. I have a question about his diet. The people who had him before me have been feeding him cooked eggs daily and he is pretty obese. What would be the the best way to get him back on a healthy diet without making him sick. I know this needs to be done gradually but I really don't know the best way to go about this. Any suggestions will be helpful.

I would try dipping an appropriate food item like a baby chick or a jumbo mouse in an egg mixture (liquid).Alternate every day with eggs for a couple weeks and start cutting back to only a couple eggs a week. I know our savanna gets runny stools or constipation from too much people food. He loves cooked chicken breast, steak, and pork in moderation. He also adores hissing cock roaches, waterbugs, and locusts. A main dietary staple in the wild are giant millipedes, grasshoppers , and emperor scorpions .GOD BLESS...
