jani holdbacks

RandyWhittington Sep 09, 2008 05:41 PM

These are a couple 08 jani I held back. They have crazy color right out of the egg. I had 3 or 4 in one clutch including the oranger one pictured here that were unusually orange to be hatchlings. I'm interested to see how they change as they grow.

Hey Randy,

Are folks working with different color morphs on the Jani or are they like the Stillwater and there is only the "wild" color?

Cool Snake!

There are just the wild or naturally occuring jani although they can vary greatly. There are the hypo deppei deppei but no morphs of deppei jani yet or at least that I know of.

Wow, Nice contrast and beautiful colors! It's sometimes hard to improve on the natural accurring animal.

Thanx for responding.

nice looking snake!

these guys, (P.d.jani) are really variable in the wild. i think that there has been an effort to selectively breed for brighter color. Which is not to say that really brightly colored individuals are not found in the wild. A buddy of mine "RN" photographed a very nice looking jani while traveling in Mex. Although it was not as orange as some I have seen it was a wild animal which enhanced its beauty as far as I am concerned

Rest assured that some folks are working on a project to accent the colors of deppei jani.............Stay tuned!

Very nice Randy. Those are going to be some killer adults. I'll have to post an updated pic of the male I got from you.
