100% HYPO SURI FEMALE for VFR

AshLopez Sep 09, 2008 11:33 PM

I'm not sure what happened to her.

I know she was sold off the classifieds for around $38,000.00.

If I can remember correctly a guy from Texas was either selling or buying her.

Pictured last is an albino suri.I think this one was the male.

I don't mean to rain on this, but I think that Suriname is an unbelievably beautiful Boa. An extremely washed out Pastel Suriname. But unless and until it was bred and proved to be either a dominant or simple recessive heritable trait, that's all it remains. I am really glad you had that picture. The animal is fantastic and I hope whoever has it is able to breed it and soon. But I think if someone would pay that kind of money for that animal, they would be taking an incredible risk.

Here is a Colombian Pastel that is completely different from that Suriname in almost every respect but, is every bit as washed out in comparison to "normal" Colombians, and yet is nothing more than a really washed out Pastel:

As for the Suriname Albino. Yup. That's exactly what they looked like. Will Slough still has his but to my knowledge still has not bred it. I think it may very well be for sale too actually.

Great photos! I'm glad you hung onto those photos and were able to post them here

Though technically it is a hypo, I don't think it is in regards to the way we use the term. I have to say though that that is a BAD A** looking animal, I would probably give up a leg to get one! In regards to that albino, that thing is just insane looking, I woud probably have to give up the other leg and Ash would have to carry me in a backpack. LOL

Thanks for putting those pics together Ash!

Thanks again,
Angel

Those are two wicked looking BCC/Suirnams. That washed out striped Suri really is amazing looking. Looks like some type of possibly genetic mutation, very cool mutation. I'd love to see breeding results from that one. I personally wouldn't classify that under the Genetic mutation term we call Hypomelanistic. Even if it reproduced itself in a Dominant or Codom type fashion,I think its something different, just my opinion though.

Thank you so much Ash for posting those pics! I have been dying to see that 100% suri albino for years! Way to go dude! : ) It just went from rumor to fact in my mind. The hypo mutation in suri's still has to be proven with breeding though, with this one or another. I have seen a few hypo looking suris but the proof is in breeeding them.
