Great DIY article, I've been using a similar setup for about 5 years now. Wanted to add that the addition of a regulator at the value not only extends the life of the bottle as you only need a small amount but eliminates trying to crack the bottle just enough not to blow the top off the chamber. I use an old welding reg I picked up at a Garage sale dirt cheap. I turn it down to 10 psi and let it fill the chamber dead in 5 minutes.

Another time saver is a gate valve on the chamber side of the regulator. Rather than opening and closing the tank each time you need to gas a batch of rodents. You simple open the valve for each batch no adjustment necessary. At the end of the day be sure to close the main valve and release pressure form the reg.

I use a 20 pd bottle and my chamber holds 20 large rats.

Cheers
