black gap hatchling

westtexas Sep 10, 2008 12:28 PM

my buddy hatched this guy out and we were trying to figure out what to call it. i say its a reduced pattern but the terms "patternless" and "speckled" came up as well. (ive seen many snakes posted as patternless that clearly still has some visible pattern, and its become annoying). the mother is a wild caught black gap collected legally before this yucked-up law went into effect. the father is a black gap f1. so, not sure if this hatchling would still be called an f1 and what to call the pattern. thank you for your input. (no others in the clutch were like this. i know wild caught black gaps can carry the patternless gene, so my buddy hopes this is a genetic trait).

I would call it cool and then I would keep it.
