Black Milk

Here's a few pics showing the change that my black milk as gone through in less then a years time. First pic is right when I received him, from Paul Weaver. Second pic is about four months later, and last pic was taken tonight. Thanks for looking. Steve

How old is the snake? Does this all take place in the snakes first year ?

They usually don't turn completely black until their second year. Here's a picture of one that's about 18 months old. Hatchlings should be here in a week or two!

Very Nice! These are great snakes, extremely docile and never turn down a meal in my experience.

Cool photo series Steve! Great looking snake you've got there. I plan to take pictures of a holdback this year every 3 months for 2 years or so to document the color change as well.

Here's a pic of one at 2 years...you can barely see the rings on him.

Nice pics Steve, I love seeing the changes they go through. I took some pics to document the change and put them on the link below to document the process. I found it interesting to note that my male and female changed differently.
