Empty soda cans are really loud in the middle of the night when he will decide to go and explore..So stack a few around the area.Especially in the edge of doorways etc.

I always check the hottest spot closest to where he escaped from, ie heat vents, somewhere the sun would come through the window and heat up a spot maybe. Otherwise the darkest closest spot, like under a dresser or bed.

They do climb though. I just had a friend lose his ball and he found it curled up on top of his toilet seat. Goes against all of my theories (low, dark and hot), but it was true.

Just remember, dark and hot spots. I ALWAYS find my escapies under my rack systems or behind one of the bins in the rack. I lose one ever now and then when I clean. Hope this helps.

I had a female pastel escape from me when I was still in college. She crawled out of my room and went down the hall into my suitemates room and I found her curled up around the motor in there fridge. The motors in the back of fridges get pretty warm and make a good hiding spot, so if you're running out of places to look, there. Best of luck!

But seriously, I lost my female het Pied once and someone suggested to put strips of flour around all appliances (refrigerator, washing machine, dryer, stove, etc), in all doorways and thresholds, against some of the walls, etc. It worked like a charm. Its harmless to the snakes and leaves "tracks" of where they been. You check in the mornings or after the house has been quite, you're bound to find flattened out flour and snake tracks leading somewhere. It will give you an idea of where to start looking.

Also, do not run the washer, dryer, garbage disposal... anything. They like wrapping themselves in appliances and the last thing you need to do is turn it on... if he's in there... well it won't be pretty.

Do you have a bookself? Check that, including inside some of them. And check inside your couch.

I have other ideas. PM me if you need more! Good luck!

I do have a fridge in my room and i check it every day. My room is pretty empty so there's not many places he could hide. I like the idea of the flour i am going to try some around my doorways...

You stated "in my room". You have to realize that the search should be involved in the entire building/house you are in. These snakes can get under or through openings that you can't immaging. Also make sure once you find this guy, that the cage is now escape proof. You won't want to go through this again.

I hear that the flour trick works really well.
If you see tracks going into a room, and not back out, keep that room closed until you find it. At least you'll know it's in that room.

Be careful where you sit - check under, in, and around any furniture you may be sitting on.

Let us know when you find it.

lol what a mess...this morning I saw what looked like 3 trails from underneath the couch...it was the only piece of furniture left in my room that wasnt sliced and diced and sitting in the yard...so, I began disecting the couch...after totally destroying it..it too joined the matchiing easy chair in the boneyard.no houdini..I decided to do another complete search since 3 trails could mean she went out..in .and back out from under the sofa...there she was behind a box of paperwork underneath the bed. This was her 2nd escape event. She is now in her 3rd enclosure.Hopefully she will like it there since it offers more privacy for her.
now that my furniture is gone..I have more room for snakes!

After a Party my roommate had a party in our house, I found my 2 year old boa all the way upstairs hanging from a bathroom light fixture. What is funny is I went downstairs and checked the enclosure to see if it was mine because I couldn't believe it. It was the only snake in the house. I was told a guy was playing with it. The lid was not quite closed all the way. Good luck, and make sure he can't get outside. He'll come out eventually. Derek
