I just asked a friend of mine from that area and he said that eastern milks are probably still there but quite uncommon. If you travel a little bit south they should be fairly abundant.
I'm sure milks are still quite common in that area, but they are a secretive animal that is only surface-active under certain conditions. I've seen photos and heard reports of numerous animals from that area.

i live 30 miles east of indianapolis and i feel like ive checked every barn,woods,and rock outcropping with no luck.leagaly i cant buy one but i can find all i want.im just frustrated!
I've never hunted down around Indy, but lived most of my life in Cass County (Logansport). I was there this summer and went herpin' with my "old timer" buddy! We found LOTS!! Should you go up that way, go to the State Hospital grounds, they are everywhere!!
