What are other common names for oats and bran np

Interesting question...what makes you ask? They really don't have other common names that I can think of. The scientific name for oats is Avena sativa. Bran is actually the outer layer of grains (e.g. oat bran or wheat bran, which is usually just called bran) that is left over after milling.
