Saw this newborn Broad-bandXsouthern copperhead this morning on my favorite riding trail.

I almost ran the little tyke over, at a distance looked like a stick covered in Lichen. How the other bike missed him I'll never know..
Anyway, he was most coperative for his photo shoot & didn't even protest when I scooted him off the path..

Agkistrodon is one of my favorite genera. Now since I have kids I just admire them and let them go on their way. Nice find!

Yeah, I find contortrix so laid back, its hard to remember that they are dangerous ( even though non-lethal.). But you have to. I had to warn a jogger that they were there. Seriously though, this little guy was in more danger, of being flattened. I bet there were others around, too.
I've found 3 this summer, total. One yearling monday evening at night & the adult after Tropical deppression Edouard went by.

thats Pretty cool. Did you do anything with him like keep him or let him go?
Thanks,
Kyle
