Hatchlings!

Godfrey Sep 11, 2008 07:32 PM

I found two good eggs back in July in my outdoor turtle enclosure. I brought them in and incubated them just like I do my snake eggs. Took a look at them tonight and both have pipped. (Hope this is the correct term!) I caught a good shot of the egg tooth on this one. Looking forward to raising them.

Mega Congrats!!! Thats fantastic. I didn't find any boxie eggs this year, although I wasn't sure if CBBs were quite mature enought anyway, so I will hope for better luck next year. The snakes kept me plenty busy this summer anyway, but I really look forward to seeing what you experienced in that picture first hand. Cute little bugger, and yes I believe it is called "pipping" be it snake, turtle or chicken eggs or whatever.

Congratulations!!! I wish I could actually witness baby boxies hatching. It must be very rewarding to see all of your incubation and care paying off!
