need help with cork background

addam4208283 Sep 05, 2003 08:52 PM

I just started to set up a new viv. a thirty gal tall hex. and I have siliconed the cork to the background. I wanted to know if I was supposed to stuff the area between the cork and the tank with moss or leave it as is? there is a pretty big gap.

thanks in advance.

Fill it. The frogs will go behind there and forget how to get out or get stuck or something. Then youll have to go thru the hell of tearing off all the carefully glued cork just to rescue your little gems. Try great stuff spray foam to fill the gaps. That stuff is my new best friend when it comes to making vivariums But moss will work too, just stuff it in there tight.

Definately go with the foam for filling because the moss tends to settle and will create some gaps over time... better to be safe than sorry.

Good Luck

Is there a specific kind of spray foam to use?
What type do you, use?
Thanks for the help.

You can look on my site below to see the building of my imitator tank and see the foam and how I used it. I only used it to cover the large holes and then I put moss over it from home depot.
