Thing is, because people feed their snakes chickens doesn't mean you have to but if you want to. Depends on where you live, there are market farms near my place where they have chickens. Ask around for chickens that are a month old or something. I don't feed my snakes chicken, just rats and the ocassional neighbor's pet cat, jk. Just feed them the food you can buy and add vitamin suppliments. If you must have chicken than the nearest KFC will do.

Lol...well, thanks for the input....and about the vitamin supplement, where do i get that from, and how to get feed it to the snake?

Snakes don't usually need vitamin supplements when they get whole prey items.. the exception is sick animals usually.. A diet of rats, gerbils, or mice gives them all of the nutrients they need.

You can get it at your nearest petshop. ZooMed and StickyTongue are said to be some of the best. ReptoCal is cool too. Umm, just sprinkle it on the food you want to feed your pet. You can also inject things inside prekilled rats, some people do that. Man ain't it a brutal world?

Day old live chicks can be ordered from McMurrayhatchery.com or eggbid.com. These can be especially cheap if you order the males of egglaying breeds or the females of meat breeds.

Adult live birds can be had from ethnic butchershops, esp. kosher ones.

In between is more of a problem. If you live in the country, culls from hobby flocks are cheap. In the city, easter chicks that have worn out their welcome are usually free.
