Normal or not?...

kampercathy Sep 12, 2008 10:21 AM

Picked this girl up in trade and I'm not exactly sure if she's a normal or something more. I made the trade thinking I was getting a normal adult female ball but when she was given to me the guy stated that she was not a normal but he didn't remember what she was. He said he had bought her from a friend who breeds ballsand that he had paid more for her because of her yellow coloring and the fact that she was "some sort of morph". Her sides and yellow flames look very similar to my male yellow belly but her belly is not nearly as clear as his...Any ideas?

Here's another shot with a normal to compare

Does the yellow green wrap onto the belly? and have generally clear belly? If so I have one nearly identical. It would be the 3rd one I have seen this year.

I just considered mine a nice normal. WOuld be interesting to plug it into other morphs to see if it can TWEEK them a little.

Post a belly shot.

It is genetic whether it is predictably inheritable is another story. The hopes of it passing the look onto the babies is high but may not do anything more than make them prettier. Just like breeding a very light normal to a pastel, still get great pastels but that is all they are.

There could be more to it HARD to say until you breed one of its sons back to her. So look for similar colors in the son and see what happens. DINKIN PROJECT!!

if you have to ask its a normal.

breed her and then breed one of her sibs back to her if you are curious.

At the very least she'd probably take the 'blushing' of a Mojave/Pastel/Cinnamon/Lesser up a notch.

If not, you're still left with some good looking morphs.
Fun times either way you slice it.
Isn't that what it's all about anyways.
