female doesn't want to eat

newtosnakes Sep 05, 2003 09:07 PM

the two BP's I rescued are doing well. Both had beautiful sheds last weekend. But now the female won't eat. Zeus the male ate without a problem, but Hera don't seem interested in food right now. Should I worry or should I just give her some time. They were both fed two weeks ago, am I trying to feed them to soon?

Are you new to ball pythons?

I feed my juvenile ball python one hopper every 7 days to keep him active and give him a steady diet. For adults, you should feed a small meal once every 10 days. For an adult, probably either 1 or 2 full grown mice or the equivalent in rats. You will hear a lot of controversy over the feeding and techniques used so keep an open mind.

How are you feeding them and what type/size? i.e. frozen/thawed, live, mice, rats, etc... It's important so that I can give you a better understanding of what may be going on.

Dustin
