New Albino Honduran

ORLANDOHERPER Sep 13, 2008 09:02 PM

check her out. she's 1 year old. i got her at the NARBC show in Anaheim last week. i got a question though. should i use a standard zoo med uth for her? because im scared it might get too hot.my corn is doing fine on one,but im just scared for her. she's on aspen and took her first meal and digested it just fine. thanks. oh,and she barely even looks like an albino, she looks more like a tangerine albino almost in my opinion lol but ofcourse, their is the red-orange as well.

Nice I picked one up at the show too, who did you get yours from? I have mine on a flex watt with a thermostat.

i got mine from Ancient Lizard, but i guess they dont focus on hondurans, seeing their website only has lizards lol. the guy had a good selection though. so how much was the flex watt and thermo all together? also, where can i get a flex watt?

A standard Zoo Med UTH is fine but you need to put a reostat on it so it does not run too hot. You don't want to run one wide open with any snake. With a reostat or thermostat you can turn it back to the temp you desire.

You can get a reostat from Lowes or Home Depot that is for dimming end table lights for less than $15. I've used them for years and they work great as long as you keep the surrounding room temps stable.
