A very SPECIAL arrival / hatchling

PHEve Sep 14, 2008 12:10 AM

Tonight, a few hours ago a special little baby entered my world, Most of you know I did not brumate any of my crew this past winter due to some problems. Anyway I had taken in 2 aquaflame females ( Kanto, and Akemi), shorltly after Christmas last year for a forum buddy who went off to Austraila, to school.

I introduced them to one of my handsome male flames Kiowa, and all were quite content. Akemi became gravid and was gorgeous, but I lost her a month and a half ago. She had a very hard time laying, took a couple days, and she was very weak, and died. I found that besides the 3 eggs she layed that she had a fouth stuck side ways and could not get it out. I was very sad to have lost her. Two of the eggs were squishy and no good, the third was soft but looked workable, so I set it up and incubated and kind of let it be so to speak.

Tonight when I did my normal last check of the night I got to meet Akemi's lil one. I think I will use moms name but instead of an I at the end I will use an A for Angel, ( Akema)

Better pics in daylight tomorrow

Congrats, Eve! What a little cutie!

It's just amazing what can happen. The two hatchlings I have now almost didn't make it to the incubator. When Celeste laid that clutch, she stayed in her laying place quite a bit longer than she had previously. When she finally came out and I went to retrieve the eggs, she had been in there so long that the sand had dried out some, and I thought the eggs looked bad. I almost didn't incubate them. Some of them plumped back up after being in the incubator a while. I've learned not to give up on eggs that don't look great.

We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.

Hey Val, it is funny how things go. Little Sohu your runt, is not so runty anymore, he looks enormous next to the baby Akema, hehehe.

Sohu eats and eats and just is the cutest lil lizard, all sprawed out with a cubby little tummy. I have a new pic of him, seems as though the real small ones when they get going grow super FAST,

She's a cute one and a miracle alright. She's lucky to have you around as a guardian angel. I say she couldn't be in better hands. Congrats again.
It's a she right? If not, then replace the shes with Hes.
