Well i would call them sub adults. They are appro 13 -15, all three weigh in at around 100 lbs.It does not matter which way you ship. I had a snake sent to the wrong airport in another state in the freezing cold. The guy that shipped them has done so for 5 or so years and this was his first problem. The temps are just right so i am not worried. Airborne can overnight packages up to 150 lbs.And it would of cost me alot less to ship Delta.
Come to find out Airborne quote "accidently busted open the box" and the snakes was exposed in a bag of course. So they sent the box back to sender. But some how got sent 2 states away to Michigan. The sender has been keeping me well informed and up to date on what he could find out.
>>First of all, I didn't think Airborne could ship things of that kind of size and second of all, why have animals that big shipped via Airborne (or any other door to door courier for that matter). I am sorry that you have to deal with this predicament...I have been there many times in the past and it drove me nuts. That is why we only ship and prefer to only recieve animals shipped via Delta or soe kind of airline for pickup at the airport. It saves tons of transit time for the snakes and reduces the chances of delays and animal death. It may be a bit more of a hassle to drive to the airport (it is quite far for us) but it just is not fair to the snake that it has a higher chance of dying because the purchaser did not want to drop the extra cash to ship it more safely.
>>We lose plenty of business because folks won't pay for the extra costs...sometmes we split shipping with them, sometimes we don't. And sometimes the customers just walk. I don't get it. If you buy and animal for $150 or $1500 what value does it have for you if it never makes it to you or winds up dead?
>>Beyond that, it is a terrible way for a snake to die.
>>Not to be an @ss but in regards to shipping, you often get what you pay for.
>>Sorry if you take this too personally, I don't mean it that way. I just get tired of folks depending on these crap couriers to do the job they can do better...and potentially save a snake.
