I'm sure some of you remember my girl Nacho. She had a really bad eye infection a year or so ago, and I almost lost her. She has issues with that eye as I don't think she sees so well out of it anymore, if she does at all.
Well, she had a recent shed, that as far as I know went over well. But every day when i go to check in on her, I find the good eye is kind of glued shut. And as I type this she is rubbing it on my key board. She did the same thing last time and made a sore. I have been using eye irrigation solution and a q-tip to kind of soak it to open again. Tonight I got what looked like shed from the inner edge of the eye. I'm worried this might turn into another eye infection. I can't remember the eye drops the vet gave me before, so I have to call and find out. My question is does anyone know what I can do to prevent this from happening again?
Also, we are in a mealworm shortage, at least I havent been able to get any, and because of her eye she doesnt eat crickets that well. She is loosing weight. When she had the last infection, which was very bad.. I used insure to keep weight on her. Can I do that as a supplement to the crickets until the mealworms come back? She wont eat anything else.

You can definitely do that. I would even recommend removing the crickets' back legs so they can't jump. I used this method for an injured juvi so she didn't have trouble hunting. Once you've done that just put them in the bowl as you would mealies, and Nacho should take.

Well, she is not getting any better, so we are off to the vet tomorrow.
