THE STATESMAN (Kolkata, India) 09 September 08 Snake bite kills two
Balasore: Two people in Raghunathpur village of Simulia block died while two others have been shifted to hospital in a serious condition after being bitten by a snake. Mir Ayub (48) and his eldest son Mir Yusuf(25) succumbed to the poisonous snake bite but the condition of his other two sons Mir Azad (14) and Mir Sajad (10) who are undergoing treatment are said to be improving, sources said.
Mir Ayub was bitten by the snake while he was sleeping in his house on Saturday. Hearing his screams his sons woke up and were also attacked by the snake. The victims were reportedly taken to a village sorcerer first but when their condition deteriorated they were admitted to the Bhadrak Hospital and were finally shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack. However Mir Ayub and Mir Yusuf died on their way to the hospital.
