I have an everglades rat snake. He is about 5 and a half years old, 4-5 feet long.
I was away for the summer and I had to leave him with a friend of mine. Now I have him back and he is acting very strangely. We have him near the door that leads from our apartment to the hallway, and I think maybe he is agitated or something, because he is always out of his hiding places, and he will have his head up in the air. He seems jumpy also, and maybe defensive. I don't think he would bite me but I haven't been apt to put my hand in the tank. I don't know what to do, he doesn't seem like the same snake anymore.
I think that I am going to move him into my bedroom and see if that helps, but I would really apreciate any input that anyone could give me. Thanks.
