Photo troubles

Don't generally like posting "feeding" pics but was experimenting last night with settings trying to capture the yellow of this little fella. Without manipulating the picture this was as close as I came. My problem is that with flash the colors wash out without it the intensity just doesn't register. Frustrating!

Try using a flash diffuser. You can find them relatively cheap on ebay or CL. Of course, the cheapest flash diffusers are holding a tissue or white paper towel over the flash. Snake bags work well also!

Beautiful thayeri, BTW. Makes me want to get back into keeping them..

Gorgeous Thayeri Tony! I taped a couple tissues over my camera's flash, and it works very well. Makes my camera look ugly as sin, but it takes pics like this:
