Egg Condition Upgraded...

nategodin Sep 16, 2008 04:06 PM

... from "moldy, possibly bad" to "not too shabby"! It looks like all nine of the gaigeae eggs are good, more pics to come. I hope this gives some hope to any of you who still have some less than perfect eggs in the incubator.

Nate, that's great! Glad it made it. It has to be really bad for me to pitch an egg...you just never know. My gaigeae eggs are at day 72 today...how long did yours take this year?

Thanks, I was pretty excited to find out that all nine eggs were good, too. The clutch was laid on 7/3, so today is day 75, great to have them a little earlier than expected since I was a bit concerned about them being ready for the next local show on 10/4. I guess yours should be hatching any day now. Very nice Cosalas, by the way! I have a very well patterned female Sinaloan that I wish I could breed, but unfortunately she only eats fuzzies, and goes off feed for months at a time... not exactly great breeding material.

Hey Nate - well if you get her eating rat fuzzies, that will do the trick! Some of my female breeder sinaloans and nelsoni prefer fuzzies for some reason, so I give them big rat fuzzies and we're both happy and they breed just fine!

By the way, my blacks started pipping tonight as well at 72 days. They usually fall within 70 - 75 days. Good luck with yours!
